About the event
The 27th Annual Multicultural Student Leadership Conference, "Chat, are we cooked?: Growing up in 2026", will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026. We anticipate a great turnout, in this safe environment where students engage in open, brave and empowering discussion, as well as interact with others who want to make a difference in their schools and communities.
The DAIS Multicultural Student Leadership Conference, for all students in grades 8 - 12 in the Tri-state area and beyond, will feature student-facilitated discussion addressing a wide variety of topics on social identifiers/identity, equity and social justice, affinity group activities, an open mic/talent show, dinner and a party with a game room. The knowledge and experience gained by attending this conference are realized by the students, as well as their schools. Students return to school more self-confident and prepared to take the initiative to share and educate others about equity, diversity and social justice issues.
